System architecture

Configure the complete measurement workflow.

RobotScan Q12 is a quote-configured robotic 3D inspection system for repeatable measurement of small, detailed production parts. It combines OptimScan Q12 structured-light scanning with robotic motion, a servo turntable, RobotScan Control, and an inspection workflow.

The system supports dual scan ranges, automated path execution, full-field comparison, dimensional inspection, and report generation.

Where RobotScan Q12 fits

Use it for airfoils, brackets, connectors, gears, housings, electronic components, and other small parts where fine geometry and repeatable measurement matter.

How the workflow runs

  1. Configure the part position, fixture, and robot path.
  2. Run automated 3D measurement with OptimScan Q12.
  3. Compare the scan with CAD and evaluate dimensions or GD&T.
  4. Generate the inspection report and connect results to production systems when integration is scoped.

Configuration review

Fixtures, robot configuration, guarding, workstation, software licenses, loading and unloading, MES integration, installation, and acceptance criteria are finalized through an application review. The standard RobotScan architecture supports parts up to 500 mm and a turntable load up to 20 kg. OptimScan Q12 does not capture color texture.

Match the system to the part, tolerance, environment, output, software stack, training need, and protection plan. Every selected option is included in the technical review.
