System architecture
FreeScan Trio is a wired handheld metrology scanner built for fast capture of industrial parts, vehicle bodies, tooling, and large assemblies. Its 98-line mode can track feature-rich geometry without markers, while 26-line, 7-line, and single-line modes cover high-speed scanning, fine detail, and recessed features.
For accuracy-critical work, marker-based modes deliver up to 0.02 mm accuracy. Integrated video photogrammetry improves large-part volumetric accuracy to 0.02 + 0.015 mm/m without coded targets. Included FreeScan software supports scan setup, real-time mesh display, data-quality visualization, feature recognition, and export to ASC, OBJ, STL, and PLY.

SHINING 3D publishes these as the recommended FreeScan Trio workstation requirements. A compatible NVIDIA GPU is mandatory. The scanner connects to the workstation during scanning.
